Before and after
There were several steps I took in order to balance this image. Before I started my main goal was to bring out the blue of the water in the background without making the water falling that same dark blue. I increased the vibrance on the part of the picture with the water. I also changed the saturation to bring out more of the blueness. Then for the other side of the picture, I balanced it by lowering the exposure slightly so that the stone had more depth to in. I wanted to bring out the lines and the texture of the stone. After that, I put them together for the finished product.

Best work thus far
I took this photo of an artist in Chicago. I used a point and shoot camera. I think it is a good photo because it is interesting and shows an artist at work.
I do not remember what kind of camera I used for this photo. I took this picture of a friend at a party. I think it is a good picture because it captures an interesting look on his face.
I took the following pictures using a nikon d3100:
I like this photo because of its simplicity. I like the lock and the chains around the fence.
I like this picture because of the quality and focus on the flower.
I think this picture is good because of the expression on the squirrel's face. I also like the way his tail is expressing his emotion.
For this course, I will be using a nikon d3100. I don't know much about this camera, but I am looking forward to learning.
Expectations
I have several goals for this class. My first goal is to start taking better pictures. I have little experience working with anything but a point and shoot camera. I would like to learn how to use my camera better as well as some of the features it has. My second goal for this class is to learn more about editing photos. I really don't understand the depth of raw images, so I would like to learn more about that. I am also looking forward to pushing my creativity during this class!!
